Deezer plans to add a setting before the end of 2026 that removes fully AI-generated tracks, albums and their associated artists from search results. Users will be able to enable the switch in settings and turn it off again when needed.

The feature builds on Deezer’s system for detecting synthetic music. Since early 2025, the company says it has excluded more than 42 million AI tracks from recommendations and editorial playlists. It has also labeled over 14 million albums.

Many new uploads, few streams

Deezer says nearly AI-generated tracks are added each day, rising to more than half of all daily uploads on peak days. They currently account for around one to three percent of actual streams. Deezer also reports fraudulent manipulation in up to 85 percent of plays of these tracks and says those streams are excluded from payouts.

A survey by Ipsos and Deezer found that around 45 percent of streaming users would like to filter out fully AI-generated music.

Why it matters

This does not change anything for IPTV player users: the Deezer setting applies to searches within its music service. It does show how content filters can be offered directly in a streaming service’s settings.
