“The Ultimate Hype” moves to Pluto TV
Banijay Media is moving “The Ultimate Hype” from RTL+ to Pluto TV. The free reality combat sports series begins on October 30, 2026, with a Halloween edition.
Banijay Media Germany is reshaping “The Ultimate Hype” after its one-off event on RTL+ last year. The reality combat sports format will return as a multi-event series on Pluto TV, a free FAST streaming service. The move is intended to make what is known as reality fighting available to a broad audience without a subscription. The series is scheduled to begin on Friday, October 30, 2026, with a special Halloween edition.
Reality personalities, creators and athletes
The renewed concept brings together reality television personalities, content creators and professional athletes for bouts across several disciplines. The planned matchups include boxing, kickboxing, mixed martial arts and slap fighting. Two accompanying talk formats will explore the competitors’ rivalries and preparations. Each event will also have a distinct theme, with Halloween setting the tone for the first instalment.
A technology update for Pluto TV
The series arrives as Pluto TV completes a major technical overhaul. The service has been rebuilt on Paramount+’s technology platform and will bring live and on-demand programming together through an updated interface with improved recommendation features. Banijay Media Germany’s managing director, Christian Nienaber, said the platform offers a fitting place to combine combat sports, reality entertainment and creator content, while making use of Pluto TV’s reach. The addition also gives Pluto TV another live offering, with younger audiences among the groups the service hopes to reach.
Why it matters
For viewers, the series is set to be available free on Pluto TV rather than RTL+. The available information does not specify supported devices or IPTV players.
