Amazon is bringing Luna to the Prime Video app on Fire TV in Germany in November. Prime members will get access to a rotating selection of cloud games at no extra cost.

Amazon is integrating its cloud gaming service Luna into Prime Video on Fire TV in Germany in November. Prime members can stream a rotating selection of games without an additional charge.

The games tab is also due to launch in seven other European countries. Titles include “Hogwarts Legacy,” “Sonic X Shadow Generations” and “Assassin’s Creed Mirage.” The offering also includes party and social games under GameNight.

Play with a controller or smartphone

The games run through the cloud, so users do not need to download them or own a console. Compatible controllers are supported, and smartphones can control selected games: users scan a QR code displayed on the TV. The announced integration initially covers Fire TV devices. Amazon has not announced availability on other devices or platforms.

Netflix also offers games, including selected party games on TVs that use a smartphone as the controller. Many Netflix mobile games are downloaded, while Luna streams its games.

Why it matters

This does not change how IPTV player users watch IPTV content. Prime Video users with Fire TV will get cloud games in the same app; access requires a Prime membership, but Amazon says the included games have no extra charge.
