tvOS 27.2 adds three new features
Apple plans to release tvOS 27.2 next week for compatible Apple TV 4K models. The update adds three features for screen savers, accessibility, and choosing personal photos.
Apple plans to bring tvOS 27.2 to compatible Apple TV 4K models next week. The software, currently available as a release candidate, adds three features for everyday use of Apple’s streaming box.
More choice and accessibility
- A shuffle setting can rotate screen savers across categories instead of limiting playback to one category.
- For supported movies and shows in the Apple TV app, viewers can select American Sign Language or British Sign Language tracks from the playback controls.
- For Memories, Slideshows, and Portraits, users can choose specific photos or albums from an iPhone or iPad. This does not require access to the entire photo library.
The features refine the existing Apple TV 4K experience; according to the information available, Siri AI is not part of tvOS 27.2. Apple’s next fourth-generation Apple TV 4K model is expected to arrive in stores on November 13.
Why it matters
This does not change the features of IPTV players or other streaming services. For people using the Apple TV app, eligible titles gain an additional sign language option; the more selective photo controls and screen saver shuffle affect use of the Apple device in the living room.
