Plex is rolling out version 2026.20.0 for Android, iOS, Android TV, tvOS and Fire TV. The update adds Live TV, search and library features and fixes numerous issues.

Plex is distributing version 2026.20.0 for Android, iOS, Android TV, tvOS and Fire TV. The release is staggered across app stores, so availability may vary by device.

New recording options and TV navigation

People using Plex for Live TV recordings can now set recordings to start earlier or end later. On iOS and Android, the Live TV tab opens a source selector when multiple sources are connected. On Android TV and tvOS, users can also change the app icon in settings. Search results can be started with the remote’s Play button, while holding a library entry opens additional actions, including a library scan.

Other changes include smoother transitions for artwork and cover images, rounded search fields on mobile devices, and optional theme music on film and collection pages. Bug fixes address playback and navigation on TVs, Dolby Vision frame rate and resolution adjustments, as well as mobile crashes, downloads and connection problems.

What it means

The update improves Plex across several device types and adds practical controls. Because distribution is staggered, users will not all receive the new version at the same time.

Why it matters

For users of IPTV players and streaming services, the update mainly shows Plex expanding Live TV recording controls and TV navigation. These changes apply to Plex and do not directly affect other players.
