Best IPTV Player for Nvidia Shield 2026 – Who Has Experience?

Hi everyone, I use a Nvidia Shield TV Pro (2019) with TiviMate (Premium) for IPTV. Since the last update, it stutters more often and EPG updates get stuck. I am considering switching in 2026. Which player is currently the most stable? It should support hardware decoding and Multi-View. TiviMate, OTT Navigator, IBO Player, or something completely different? Who has compared them? Thanks.

After extensive testing, I settled on OTT Navigator. The player has much better EPG management than TiviMate and runs perfectly smoothly on the Shield, including with 4K streams. The app supports hardware decoding through ExoPlayer and VLC, and the Multi-View feature is stable. The only downside is that the interface takes some getting used to, but it is excellent once configured. TiviMate also stuttered for me, especially with catch-up.

I swear by TiviMate, but only version 5.0.1 (older APK). Unfortunately, the newer updates have bugs. For 2026, though, I would test IBO Player. It has an integrated VPN client and runs very efficiently on the Shield. EPG updates are completed within seconds. A friend has used it for a year without crashes. I am sticking with TiviMate for now because I prefer its playlist organization.

I tested all three: TiviMate, OTT Navigator, and IBO Player on the Shield Pro. My favorite for 2026 is OTT Navigator because of its customizability. You can integrate your own players, such as MX Player, which helps with HLS streams. TiviMate is simpler, but it becomes sluggish with large playlists (>5000 channels). IBO Player is good, but the ads in the Free version are annoying. For Multi-View, OTT Navigator is clearly ahead.

Do not forget that the Shield can also run Kodi with a PVR client. I use Kodi 21 with the IPTV Simple Client. It is extremely stable, has no stuttering, and the EPG is cached locally through XML. The downside is that there is no Multi-View out of the box. But anyone looking for an all-in-one solution should choose TiviMate, with automatic updates disabled. I have heard that the 2026 versions of OTT Navigator and IBO Player perform better than TiviMate 5.5.
