Hi everyone, I recently bought an LG OLED (C2) and an IPTV subscription with many 4K and HDR channels. Unfortunately, some channels stutter, and the colors sometimes look washed out. I currently use the standard player from Smart IPTV. Which player really delivers smooth 4K and accurate HDR? It should also run on a Fire TV 4K Max. Thanks for your tips.

I use TiviMate 2.1.5, which handles HDR and 4K without any problems. Important: Select “ExoPlayer” as the decoder in the settings and set HDR to “Passthrough”. It runs perfectly smoothly for me on a Fire TV 4K Max. The only downside is that the interface is not very modern, but it is highly functional.

I swear by OTT Navigator (the paid version). HDR playback is excellent, even at 4K/60fps. I use it on an NVIDIA Shield TV Pro, and there is no stuttering. The app also supports automatic frame-rate adjustment, which many players lack. The only hurdle is that setup is somewhat complex.

I tested Smarters Player Pro, but I often experienced micro-stuttering with 4K content and the HDR colors looked oversaturated. I then switched to IPTV Extreme Pro, which runs reliably on my Formuler Z10. However, I miss TiviMate’s EPG integration. It depends on your priorities.

If you really want to get the most out of HDR, use Kodi with the PVR IPTV Simple Client. With the right addon, such as Maven’s Build, 4K HDR is displayed perfectly, including HLG and Dolby Vision. It does require some tinkering, though. On Fire TV, it runs smoothly if you adjust the cache size.
