Best IPTV Player for Samsung and LG Smart TV

Hi everyone, I have a Samsung QLED (Tizen OS) and an LG OLED (webOS) at home. I want to use IPTV directly on the Smart TVs without extra hardware. I have read that modern TVs support this. I am looking for an app that runs reliably on both, supports HD/4K, and is easy to set up. Which players are you currently using? IBO Player, Smart IPTV, or Easy IP TV? How is the performance on Samsung compared with LG? Thanks for sharing your experiences.

I tested both systems. Smart IPTV has run very well on LG webOS for years. Setup takes less than 5 minutes, and it supports EPG and 4K. On Samsung Tizen, I sometimes experienced stuttering with Smart IPTV. IBO Player is the better choice there: smoother, with broader codec support and a good interface. For LG, I would stick with Smart IPTV because it is specifically optimized for webOS. Easy IP TV is also okay, but less stable.

I use IBO Player on my LG (2021 model) and am happy with it. The app supports M3U playlists and has a clear channel overview. Setup took less than 5 minutes. IBO Player costs around 5 Euro as a one-time payment, which is fair. I have no experience with Samsung, but a friend swears by SmartOne IPTV for Tizen because it is cheaper and offers similar features. Perhaps give it a try.

I tried several apps on my Samsung Smart TV (2023): IBO Player is the most stable, especially with 4K streams. Smart IPTV repeatedly had buffering problems for me. For LG, I tested Easy IP TV. The app is simple but good for beginners. However, it lacks advanced features such as recording and catch-up. If performance is your priority, choose IBO Player for Samsung and Smart IPTV for LG. That is the best combination.

Thanks for the tips. I have an LG with webOS and was unsure. I have now installed Smart IPTV, and setup was easy, just as you said. It runs perfectly smoothly in HD. I still need to test 4K. One question: Can I load the playlist via USB if the network has problems? And what are updates like? I have not received an update yet, but the app works out of the box. For Samsung, I would probably choose IBO Player.
