Hi everyone, I recently bought an Android TV Box (Xiaomi Mi Box S) and am looking for a stable IPTV player. My playlist uses Xtream Codes, and I need EPG and a recording function. Do you have any recommendations? I am choosing between TiviMate, OTT Navigator, and Smarters. It should not be too expensive, but quality is more important to me. Thanks for your tips.

I have been using TiviMate for over a year on an Nvidia Shield. The player is excellent because it offers a clear EPG display and supports recording to USB storage. The Premium version costs a one-time 5 Euro, which is worthwhile. The only downside is that there is no integrated VOD support, but it is excellent for live TV. Many users praise its smooth playback and extensive customization options.

I switched from Smarters to OTT Navigator and have no regrets. OTT Navigator has better channel management and supports multiple playlists at the same time. EPG updates work reliably, even with large lists. Some users criticize the somewhat confusing interface, but after a short learning period it became my favorite. It also runs smoothly on weaker boxes such as the Mi Box S.

I use Smarters Pro on a Formuler Z8. It is easy to set up and has a nice interface. However, the EPG function can be unreliable and recording is only possible with an external app. It is okay for beginners, but I would choose TiviMate if stability is important to you. Many users report crashes with large playlists, and I experienced that too.

I am currently testing IMPlayer on an Amazon Fire TV Stick 4K. The player supports both IPTV and VOD and has a built-in recording function. The EPG is very detailed, but the app is not free (around 10 Euro per year). Some users criticize the lack of a German translation. For me, it is a good alternative to TiviMate, especially if you also use media libraries.
