Kodi vs TiviMate for IPTV: Which is better?

Hi everyone, I'm new to IPTV and use a Fire TV Stick 4K. I'm choosing between Kodi and TiviMate as my player. I know Kodi as a media center, but I've heard TiviMate is easier for IPTV alone. What are your experiences? Is TiviMate more stable, or is Kodi more flexible with add-ons? I mainly want live TV and recordings. Thanks for your help!

I tested both. For IPTV alone, TiviMate is clearly better. Kodi is an all-rounder, but too bloated for live TV. TiviMate starts faster, has better EPG integration, and supports recording natively. With Kodi, you first have to laboriously set up add-ons such as PVR IPTV Simple Client. My recommendation: TiviMate if you only want IPTV.

I'm sticking with Kodi. Yes, it's harder to use, but extremely customizable. I use it with IPTV Simple Client and skin settings. TiviMate is good for beginners, but I miss features such as subtitle support and multi-platform support. Also, Kodi runs on PC and Android. NextPVR is enough for my recording needs. It depends on the use case.

I've been using TiviMate on an Nvidia Shield for a year and am very happy with it. Playlist management is excellent, and recording works reliably. Kodi often buffered for me and used more resources. TiviMate is lightweight and optimized for IPTV. If you only want live TV and VOD, go with TiviMate. Kodi is more for local media.

I agree that TiviMate is ahead for IPTV alone. But don't forget that Kodi can do more than IPTV. I have both installed: TiviMate for everyday TV viewing and Kodi for films and series from the hard drive. I use TiviMate for recordings because it's easier. If you only need a player, choose TiviMate. If you want a media center, choose Kodi.
