Which IPTV player has the least buffering?

Hi everyone, I’ve been testing various IPTV players on my Fire TV Stick 4K and Sony Android TV for weeks. My problem is constant buffering, especially with live channels. I use a German premium provider with a 100 Mbit connection. Which app runs most reliably for you? TiviMate, IPTV Smarters Pro or IBO Player? I’d especially like to hear from people with a similar setup.

TiviMate runs most reliably for me on the Nvidia Shield, with no buffering even on 4K streams. I previously tested IPTV Smarters Pro, but it often stuttered. TiviMate also has better EPG integration and runs smoothly on older hardware. The only drawback is that the app costs money, but it is worth it.

I swear by IPTV Smarters Pro on my Samsung Smart TV (2025 model). I constantly had buffering problems with Perfect Player and VLC. Smarters Pro runs extremely reliably with Xtream-Codes, including during recordings. A friend uses IBO Player on an LG and complains about stuttering on HD channels. Maybe it depends on the TV.

After testing seven players on Android TV for two weeks, I found that VLC is the easiest starting point, but it sometimes buffers with live streams. Perfect Player runs most smoothly on older hardware such as a Fire TV Gen 2, with no buffering, although the interface looks dated. For modern devices, I use TiviMate, which is the most stable all-rounder.

Hot Player worked surprisingly well for me on the iPhone and Apple TV 4K, with no buffering even on a 50 Mbit connection. However, it stutters on the Samsung Smart TV (2023). I think stability depends heavily on the device. My recommendation is TiviMate for Android TV and IPTV Smarters Pro for Samsung. I avoid IBO Player.
