Hi everyone, I’ve been using IPTV Smarters Pro on my Windows 11 laptop (i5, 8GB RAM) for a year and am generally satisfied. But I’ve heard that XCIPTV Player offers a cleaner interface and better performance on older devices. Since my laptop is getting old, I’m considering switching. Has anyone tested both apps? Which is more stable for live TV and EPG? I use Xtream-Codes from my provider.

I tested both on an old Pentium laptop with Windows 11. XCIPTV runs noticeably more smoothly than Smarters Pro, which sometimes stutters during EPG updates. Smarters has more features and looks the same on every device, which is ideal if you also use Fire TV or a smartphone. For Windows 11 and older hardware, I would recommend XCIPTV, especially if stability matters more to you than having lots of settings.

I switched from Smarters Pro to XCIPTV because its interface looked cleaner on the PC. Smarters is the standard app for many providers and very reliable, but XCIPTV has fewer lags during live TV on my i3 laptop. The only drawback is that EPG configuration is more complicated in XCIPTV, while Smarters pulls it directly from the Xtream code. For beginners, Smarters remains the simpler choice.

I use both in parallel: Smarters Pro on the Fire TV Stick and XCIPTV on my Windows 11 desktop (Ryzen 5). Smarters is feature-focused and works the same way on every device, but XCIPTV feels more responsive on the PC. If you only have a Windows PC, choose XCIPTV. It is lighter and uses fewer resources. For households with multiple devices, Smarters is better because the interface stays consistent.

Realistically, both are strong options in 2026, but the difference is in the details. Smarters Pro benefits from its large user base and is often the first choice for providers, making the setup process very straightforward. XCIPTV stands out for its performance on older hardware and its tidy UI. My recommendation is to test both with your subscription for a week. On Windows 11, XCIPTV will probably give you less buffering, especially with HD channels.
