Hi everyone, I use IPTV Smarters Pro on a Fire TV Stick 4K and an Android tablet. For two days, the EPG (electronic program guide) has not loaded. It simply stays black or shows „No data“. The stream itself works perfectly. I’ve already cleared the cache, reinstalled the app and changed the DNS to 1.1.1.1, but nothing helps. Does anyone know what might be causing this? My provider says the EPG URL is correct. Thanks for your help.

I had the same problem on my NVIDIA Shield. In my case, it was the EPG source. Many providers use an XML file that is no longer processed correctly after an update. Try switching to „XEPG“ or „XMLTV“ under „EPG source“ in the settings and enter the URL manually. It also helped me to delete all app data and then add the EPG URL again. A VPN can sometimes help if the ISP is blocking the EPG data.

On my Formuler Z10 Pro, the EPG problem stopped by itself after I updated the app to the latest version (5.1.4). Before that, I constantly had timeouts. A friend with a MAG device said he had to split the EPG URL into smaller parts, loading only the first 24 hours. Maybe your EPG file is too large. Try adding ?limit=24 to the URL if your provider supports it.

I had the problem on an older Fire TV Stick (2nd Gen). The EPG only loaded after I force-stopped the app in the background and restarted the Stick. Another trick is to disable „Automatically update EPG“ in the app settings and update it manually through the menu. In my case, it was caused by a time zone conflict. Make sure your device is set to „Europe/Berlin“, otherwise the EPG often shows empty fields.

I had this on a Xiaomi Mi Box S. After trying many things, the only solution was downgrading the app to version 4.0. The new version 5.x seems to cause EPG problems on some devices. Alternatively, use an external EPG proxy such as EPG.best or download the EPG data on a PC and save it locally on the device. It is cumbersome but stable. Also check that your provider is not using an HTTP rather than an HTTPS URL, as some routers block that.
